Family Law
An area of the law dealing with family-related matters and domestic relations, including marriage, civil unions, domestic partnerships; adoption and surrogacy, child abuse and child abduction.
Criminal Law
An area of the law that deals with crimes and their punishments.
Juvenile Law
An area of the law relating to a person who has not attained his or her eighteenth birthday.
Driving While Intoxicated - Driving Under the Influence
DWI/DUI are usually defined as driving while impaired by alcohol or other legal or illegal substances.
Traffic Offenses
Can be defined as misdemeanors or felonies from the outset, such as driving with a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.
Personal Injury Law
Personal injury is an injury to a person not limited to physical injuries and may include emotional,economic or reputational injury.
Workers' Compensation
In Maryland you are permitted to receive workers' compensation benefits if your injury results from a work-related accident.
Estates and Wills
A Will sets forth what is to happen after death to someone's property, called the estate, and who is to be named as guardian to care for any minor children. Maryland law requires that the Will be in writing, signed by the testator and witnessed by two disinterested persons.
Guardianships
Guardianship is a legal procedure by which a court seeks “to protect those who, because of illness or other disability are unable to care for themselves." This may be due to minority status, impairment in advanced age, or a physical or mental incapacity.
Medical Malpractice
Medical malpractice is defined as any act or omission by a physician during treatment of a patient that deviates from accepted norms of medical practice and resulted in the patient's injury or death.
